Faith was a beloved child in the Johnkutty family of Nawalapitiya, and she earned the love of all believers and her fellow Sunday school students. I was also a Sunday school student at CPM, Nawalapitiya during that time.
I remember it was in 1966 when Brother Isaiah Santiago, a servant of God, was planning to leave for the UK. It was a pleasant surprise to hear that he married Faith, and I know God blessed their union.
I am deeply sorry to learn of their demise. May God comfort and console their children and all family members. May God also undertake all the arrangements for the funeral ceremony.
We have known Aunty Faith since the time Uncle Isaiah married her. We came to know her through Uncle Isaiah, who was a dear uncle to us and a dear brother to my dad.
I remember seeing Aunty Faith when she was very young, when she married Uncle Isaiah. Over the years, we had the opportunity to meet both of them a few times when they visited Sri Lanka. Later, we heard about their two boys, who sadly also left this world at such a young age.
Through all these years, God sustained Aunty Faith and carried her through the many challenges and losses she experienced. He has now called her home, and I am thankful that she did not have to endure much pain or agony in her final days.
Over the last two years, I was blessed to keep in touch with Aunty Faith, as well as with my mom. We would speak for a good hour each time, sharing news and updates about our families and what was happening on both sides. I truly enjoyed those conversations and always felt blessed after speaking with her. I never imagined that she would leave us so soon.
But it was God’s timing. He knew her journey was complete and that she was ready to meet her Master.
I thank and praise God for Aunty Faith’s fragrant life and for the way she lived faithfully through the years as a widow. Her life was a testimony of God’s sustaining grace, strength, and faithfulness.
It was truly a privilege to have known her, to have shared conversations with her, and to have been part of her life, even for a short time.
May her memory remain a blessing to all of us, and may God comfort and strengthen the family during this time of sorrow.
My deepest and heartfelt condolences to Faith’s family. I pray that God comfort you all and fill your hearts with peace at this time of grief. We grew up in the same town, attending the same school and church. Will always cherish the beautiful memories of her.
